Restoring original dialer skin in Windows Mobile
If you have recently tried to install customization packages, like custom dialer skin or theme, and it has screwed up dialer skin, here’s the trick how to restore original one.
Use any registry editor for Windows Mobile (I’m using PHM Registry Editor), find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin key. It should contain two subkeys: DIALER and PROGRESS. Rename these keys into – for example – DIALER-- and PROGRESS-- (or you may just delete them), and restart device. Voila, original dialer skin should be right there! :)
I have used this reghack in Windows Mobile 6, however it should also work fine under WM5 as well.
Note: As I’m using – surprisingly maybe – Windows Mobile powered mobile phone, I hope to write some posts related to that from time to time. This is the very first time.
